My honest opinion for trekking in Africa is that it was great. Having said that, I have to say I wasn't impressed with the company at all.  My expectations were that both staff and guests would be mixing both in the day and evening and there would be something going on for entertainment, especially in the evenings (whether sports activities or social).  I very much felt I was 'left to my own devices'. I'm wondering whether it would've been better just hiring a guide for myself, as well as booking separate accommodation and flights.  The overall holiday expense now seems very expensive for what I got. I appreciated that the weather wasn't ideal and Patti put on the tour of the island which was fab.  However no one came to see if I had settled in my apartments ok, where as I saw other reps in the main accommodation checking on their guests. I also thought it was a poor show being sent to the airport without a rep in the coach. I love trekking in africa with so much to see, but I will not be using that tour company again.

Trekking Holidays in Africa

Combine the Kenya and Tanzania trekking trips for a two-week journey of adventure that is more than just a holiday it is a trip of a lifetime. You will visit, wildlife parks, open plains, forests and much more. Discover the contrasting scenery, wildlife environments and cultures as you travel through these most spectacular countries of Africa. You will not be dissapointed. We start in Kenya, but can also start in Tanzania if requested.

Day 1 Drive from Nairobi to the Maasai town of Ewaso Ngiro for lunch and colourful market visit. You will be amazed as to waht is on offer here and this is a great chance to buy lot sof presents for going home. Then into the bush to a small Maasai village for insights into their fascinating culture and way of life. Overnight you will camp under the stars and have a dinner round a camp-fire and sleep to the sounds of the African night. You may often hear lions and hyenas roaring in the distance as you go to sleep!

In Day 2 you will have an optional 2-3 hour walking safari along a small river, through the famous savanna, whilst always keeping watch for wildlife. The Maasai guides and interpreters of their lands, will help you walk amongst the anaimals as walk with giraffe, impala, zebra and wildebeest. After we will drive to a natural hot spring at Maji Moto, taking a bath is a must for all trekers!. The visits here help support a primary school and we can arrange visits during term time. Then on to our secluded camp in the Masai Mara and just in time for a late afternoon game drive. Another option is to walk to nearby Naumare Hills to watch an invariably stunning sunset over the Mara.A sight that you should not forget! Here you will sleep overnight in our comfortable accommodation.
